BitBack · beta out now

Google deleted the Fitbit dashboard.
I'm bringing it back.

My dad wore a Fitbit for seven years. Last month he opened the app and it was completely different. He couldn't find anything. Everyone's saying the same thing: AI summaries nobody asked for, sleep data buried, charts and customizations just gone. I told him I'd fix it. So here we are. Just me, trying to do what a trillion dollar company won't: listen to the people who use the thing.

BitBack shows the health data already on your Android phone, steps, heart, sleep, workouts, weight, hydration and blood pressure, all on one clean dashboard. No account, no cloud, no AI. Nothing leaves your device. If you moved your Fitbit account over to Google, that history is sitting in Health Connect right now, and BitBack reads it straight from there.

BitBack is brand new and growing. More features arrive with every update, and it lands on the Play Store soon. Until then the beta is handed out in the Discord, where you talk to me directly, report what's broken, and decide what gets built next.

Don't want to join the Discord? Just download it here. Keep in mind updated versions get posted on the Discord first, and that's also where you report anything broken.

How to install
  1. Open the downloaded file on your Android phone.
  2. Allow the one-time “install from this source” prompt. That's Android's standard step for apps from outside the Play Store.
  3. Open BitBack and choose which data it may read. You can revoke any of it in Health Connect at any time.

Version 0.4.9, about 5.3 MB. BitBack needs Health Connect, which is built into Android 14 and newer and a free Google app on older phones. When BitBack reaches the Play Store you'll reinstall it from there; your health data lives in Health Connect and is unaffected.
